Greetings to you, my friend! I’m Kenny, AKA BCK, THE RIFLEMEN, MATT DILLON 😂. I’m 47 years old, and I was born, raised, and currently reside in a small town on the South Carolina coast. I’m a HUGE fan of the San Francisco 49ers, Stevie Wonder, and Gunsmoke.
In my downtime, I enjoy listening to music and watching tornado and travel videos. I’m a simple man who’s not hard to please. I’m very laid-back and enjoy keeping to myself, minding my business, and having peace and quiet around me.
My passion for cooking slowly began to develop after I graduated from high school. As a child, I was always in the kitchen while my mom cooked—not because I wanted to learn, but because I was a fat, greedy kid waiting to find out when the food was done. 😂
At an early age, between 9 and 12, I learned how to cook certain things just by watching my mom. I could prepare breakfast for myself after my parents left for work, and I would often fix breakfast for my uncle when he visited from New York before I caught the school bus.
As I got older, my interest in cooking continued to grow. All those memories of watching my mom bring meals together came back to me. I slowly found myself practicing, perfecting, and adding my own touch to the methods she used.
I’m blessed to still have my mom here so I can ask her questions about how she prepared the foods we grew up eating. Over the past 30 years, my cooking skills have grown tremendously, and I’ve become known among my family, friends, and followers for my cooking.
That’s one of the reasons I decided to start my YouTube channel. I wanted a place where I could share the meals that so many of us grew up eating and help preserve the traditions behind them.
Many of the people who prepared these meals for our families have gone on to greener pastures. I want to do my part to make sure this style of cooking—and the recipes and memories that come with it—doesn’t disappear with them.
So please follow me on this journey as I do my part to keep this style of cooking alive—cooking like Mama and Grandma used to do.
